Healing the Root Causes of Disease Versus the Masking of Symptoms

Health and medicine can be really simple. The purpose of this lesson is to give you clarity about how easy taking control of your health can be and how Meridiogram helps you do that.

Believing your health is dependent on factors outside your control is very common these days but this belief strips you of the power to be your own health advocate and be in the driver’s seat of your health. With a little bit of knowledge and guidance, we can get you out of the passenger seat and behind the wheel.

The truth of the matter is that just like your body can create disease, it can also reverse it. The human body has the ability to heal itself given the right signals and resources. When you get a cut on your arm, you don’t freak out, right? You know that wound is going to create new healthy skin and it’s going to look like the cut never even happened.

The process of regeneration is happening all the time throughout your body. It’s getting rid of old and damaged cells and creating healthy new ones. World-renowned physician, international author, and integrative health practitioner Dr. Jerry Tennant explains, “your body rebuilds 98% of itself in less than a year”. Every single day you have the opportunity to build a new healthy body that allows you to live the life you want to live.

Disease and unwanted symptoms occur when certain processes fail. That failure results in your body being unable to rid itself of dysfunctional cells and replace them with healthy new ones.

Focus On The Roots, Not The Branches.

Disease and the symptoms that go along with poor health have been unfairly deemed the enemies of health. Wars have been waged on these different diseases with “Fight Cancer/Diabetes/RA/MS/etc” ad campaigns. This is a fear-based perspective and does not encourage love or understanding of the human body.

When an uncomfortable symptom manifests itself, it is simply a teacher or guide. A symptom is the body’s way of communicating that there is a problem going on that needs resolution. It is an invitation to learn something about your health and environment so you can correct it and resolve the issue in the body part or system that is failing.

The symptoms that manifest in your body function like the check engine light in your car. Sticking a piece of tape over the light so you can’t see it does nothing to address why the light came on in the first place. Also, you’re likely causing more damage to your car by ignoring it. Symptoms like pain, rashes, and poor sleep are some of the symptoms that act as the body’s check engine light. It’s telling you to take a deeper look into what’s going on.

Oftentimes, you may feel like your body is working against you, but really, it’s just communicating in a language you don’t understand. Your body uses symptoms to communicate that there is something that needs correcting.

The Meridiogram system helps you understand and decipher the language that your body uses to communicate with you. Meridiogram connects the dots that are your symptoms and shows the evolution of your health story.

The symptoms aren’t the bad guys in your health story. They are your allies. The bad guys in your health story are the things in your environment that are causing damage to your body and keeping your body from accessing its healing potential. Think of the environment as the “roots” and the symptoms, which have grown from them, the branches.

The goal of mainstream medicine is to make your symptoms go away or “manage” your symptoms. More often than not, medications and gadgets function like a bandaid. They don’t fix the root cause of why your body is damaged and can’t regenerate. This leads to the downward spiral of health and the popular collection of chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and heart disease that so many individuals acquire in our modern era. Silencing your body’s communication system isn’t wise if you want to make long-lasting, healthy changes.

Once the root causes for WHY you got sick in the first place are addressed, the symptoms will start to disappear because your body can now heal.

The answers to your health challenges are all around you in your everyday life. They’re happening all the time. You just need to know what to look for.

So what have we learned?

  • Health doesn’t have to be complicated.
  • You’re the only one that knows how you feel and you’re the person that understands your body the best.
  • The body has the ability to regenerate, heal, and overcome disease if it has the right resources and signals.
  • Symptoms are your body’s way of communicating what’s wrong and where to focus your attention.
  • Bandaid medicine that treats symptoms is “sick care” and doesn’t create health.

“Being healthy is taking responsibility for oneself.”
